Luke 6: 27-42
To love thy enemies
6:31 To do unto others what you would want others to do onto you.
this is very much similar to 6:37 where the bible says not to judge others, and thus we will not be judged.
when looking back to mark 5:15, we see the same msg reiterated again. for we are to forgive others as our Father has forgiven us. and who can forget the story of the servant who was punished by his Master for not letting his fellow off for oweing him 10 x less than the debt that the Master has just written off for him.
However, the msg isnt just for us to love our enemies, but rather how we can be different from the world.
in the passage, we see the phrase "就是罪人也爱那爱他们的人" "就是罪人也借给罪人,要如数收回"
as the children of the Lord, what is the true meaning of being a child of God? what are we expected to do? how are we, the children of God supposed to differentiate ourselves from the world?
another question we should ask is who are our enemies? who have we labelled as our enemies?
Luke 6:35-36 gives us the answer.
let us be the light and the salt of the earth, by His grace, and show ourselves to be the true children of God.
